Different Visions, One Purpose: Top Space Pioneers' Philosophies

Space exploration is a multi-faceted undertaking, and luckily for us, industry pioneers are approaching this matter from different angles. Still, their primary purpose remains the same — preserving the Earth and its resources and use all available opportunities to the fullest.

Elon Musk, the most famous figure not only in space but also in tech innovation, is focusing on cargo deliveries and Mars colonization. The latter is a very ambitious plan, but Musk believes that colonizing another planet will prove very beneficial for the human race. Eventually, it may help preserve humanity.

Currently, SpaceX cargo deliveries with its Falcon 9 vehicle remain rather expensive — around $60 million per single launch. Still, the SpaceX team remains optimistic and claims that eventually, they will be able to make their launches more budget-wise. The first cargo delivery to Mars is planned for 2022, while the first manned flight should happen two years after that.

Besides, Musk does not discard the idea of space passenger flights. Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa should become the first tourist on SpaceX Starship.

Still, the fiercest advocate of space tourism is a British billionaire Richard Branson. Along with his partner Jeff Bezos, he founded a Blue Origin company that is already selling tickets to tourist space flights. Such a trip will last 2.5 hours and will include rising 16 km high into orbit, spending up to eight minutes in zero gravity, and returning back to Earth. Right now, hundreds of people who have already paid $250,000 per ticket are waiting for their first flight.

Some of Bezos' ideas coincide with Musk's vision. However, Bezos believes that mankind should colonize the Moon and move all heavy industries and production to our planet's natural satellite. A lot of experts believe this plan to be more realistic than colonizing an entirely alien planet.

Max Polyakov's, Noosphere Ventures founder, ideas may not seem so revolutionary, but they are definitely the most conscientious ones. This entrepreneur believes that space should work for the benefit of mankind and our planet, and not the other way around. Noosphere Ventures Earth monitoring systems collect important data on climate, geopolitical processes, and many more. Soon, Noosphere Ventures will start producing its own satellites to polish this system to perfection.

Firefly Aerospace, another Polyakov's brainchild, has already signed a contract with NASA for cargo delivery. Besides, NASA chose Firefly Aerospace to participate in some of its special orbital missions.

So, all of these visions eventually come to one thing — space, and its future exploration should benefit humanity and our planet. It's not yet clear when the first flights will take place or where the first colonies will be built, but we can already count on a bright space future.
